Directory Submission

Sunday, March 2, 2008

Directory submission is probably the most effective method in link building. The links from directories are reliable as compared to reciprocal links. Each links submitted to directories are being reviewed by group of people to ensure the credibility of directories, so you can guarantee that links appeared in directories are good quality websites. Links from directories is known as one way link, one way link because most directories don't require websites to put links pointing to them and one way linking is more effective than two way linking.

It very easy to submit your site to various directories. Below are the steps on how to do it.

  • Look for directories where you want to submit your site

  • Choose the best category for your site.

  • Under the category that you have selected there are a lot of subcategories, choose the best subcategory

  • Choose the submission type (paid, free, or reciprocal)

  • Fill up the necessary information in the form

  • Click on the submit button and that's it. There are directories that requires confirmation, so open the email that you used in submission and click on the link provided by the directories.

  • For free submissions it takes 2 weeks or more before your link will be reviewed. To guarantee fast approval, I suggest you choose paid submission rather than free submission.

In submitting your site to directories be sure to choose directories with high page rank in order for your website to be visible to millions of people. If you don't have any idea where to find lots of directories visit these two sites: www.directorycritic.com and www.submit-add-url.com
